Lenovo Ideapad L340 17.3 FHD Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 17 Inch is sleek and modern that will look great in any environment. The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is available in two versions, both of which have comparable characteristics. The most noticeable difference between them is their size and weight.

The black chassis used of the Lenovo IdeaPad L340, is similar to that of competitors Acer and ASUS, with bright blue keyboard lighting. The reason for using this material is because the price is lower than its competitors.

Also, the aesthetic of the soft-touch palm rest is a welcome improvement over hard plastic, but it’s not as attractive as the predatory Acer Helios 300. The Lenovo Ideapad L340 has a palm rest that’s easier to clean.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has a chassis that is thin enough for a gaming laptop at a very affordable price. However, the laptop’s side screen bezels aren’t as narrow as those on the MSI GS65 Stealth, which costs more.

On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 because of its fairly thin bezels can give a modern look. Lenovo also mounts the camera on the top bezel. A dual-array microphone and physical shutter are also available on the Laptop’s 720p HD webcam.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is the same as the Acer Helios 300, featuring a monochrome keyboard backlight. The keyboard’s uniform two-stage lighting can be adjusted for both indoor and outdoor use.

It’s also equipped with a standard number pad, minimal key spacing, and precise pressure points. This is a full-size keyboard with all those features. The keyboard feels comfortable to type on, although the arrow keys are smaller than the other keys.

There is a difference between the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 15-inch and the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 15 17-inch. For example, in terms of weight, the 15-inch laptop weighs 2190g and has a design of 363 x 254.6 x 23.9mm (L x D x H). While the 17-inch Lenovo IdeaPad L340 weighs 2800g and measures 413 x 284.6 x 24.4 mm.

When compared to the Acer Helios 300 Predator, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 17 is much heavier. Because the Predator Acer Helios 300 significantly only weighs 2499g and has a 15-inch screen.

The 17-inch Lenovo Ideapad L340 is a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable laptop.

This laptop has a strong and slim performance that provides satisfactory performance. Battery life is excellent, allowing you to work uninterrupted for hours on end.

The keyboard is comfortable to use and the trackpad provides accurate input. Overall, this laptop is perfect for anyone who wants high-performance features at an affordable price.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has a 6-core Intel Core i7-9750H Processor with a 12-MB cache. The CPU is capable of running at a base frequency of 2.6MHz and a maximum frequency of 4.50MHz. In addition, the Intel Core i7-9750H has a fast processor that allows you to multitask without lag.

In contrast, the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U is a quad-core CPU with 4MB of cache. It has a base frequency of 2.10MHz and a maximum frequency of 3.70MHz. However, unlike the Intel Core i7, this CPU is not capable of multitasking.

The Intel Core i7-9750H CPU is in the Lenovo Ideapad L340 laptop I checked next. To assess how effective the CPU is, I ran the Geekbench 5 test.

The laptop received 5813 points in the test based on its performance in the benchmark test. The performance of the Lenovo Ideapad L340 is lower than the 11th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H Processor from Acer Helios 300 which gets 6312 points.

In the end, the predatory Acer Helios 300 wins when it comes to laptop performance. Compared to other computers in its class, it works well.

In terms of RAM, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has two memory slots, each of which can accommodate a maximum of 8GB of memory.

For optimal performance, I highly recommend that you purchase an IdeaPad L340 with at least 8 GB of RAM. However, you can expand the memory on your laptop by adding an additional 8GB to the second RAM slot if needed.

Currently, we are reviewing the Lenovo Ideapad L340 which has one memory slot with 8GB of installed memory. I ran the PCMark 10 benchmark test to properly assess RAM performance.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 achieved 5100 points, compared to 5118 points for the Lenovo Legion Y530-15ICH.

The performance of the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 RAM can already be run for you a gamer.

Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Storage

Lenovo IdeaPad L340 17-inch Storage

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has many storage options. It has a 512GB PCIe SSD and a traditional 1TB hard drive. If you want to save files then use a 1TB HDD.

You can add up to a 2TB HDD if you need significant storage space. Unfortunately, the microSD card slot is not available on the laptop.

For most users, the SSD/HDD storage combination will suffice. A 512 GB SSD is included with the model I reviewed. I ran the CrystalDiskMark test to see how the laptop’s storage performance was rated as we usually do in our laptop reviews.

In CrystalDiskMark testing, the 17-inch Lenovo IdeaPad L340 achieved a sequential read speed of 1200 megabytes per second and a sequential write speed of 145.1 megabytes per second. The 129 Mbps category average is slower than this write speed.

Moreover, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has a sequential read speed of 1200 Mbps, higher than the 817 Mbps category average.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 storage is adequate for the price, though not spectacular.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 17-inch keyboard looks attractive and responsive when used. Plus, this laptop is sleek and stylish, making it a great choice for anyone.

The plastic keys cover a distance of 1.5 mm throughout the duration of each keypress. When pressed with a button on the Lenovo Ideapad L340 17-inch keyboard will provide a touch response that is sensitive to finger touch.

In addition, this keyboard is also accompanied by a monochrome keyboard backlight that glows blue.

The keyboard on the L340 Powerful and Slim has clear pressure points. Unlike the other keys, the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard are a bit small when typing.

A single blue backlit zone is found on the keys of the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 gaming laptop. If you want, you can turn it off completely.

Lenovo Ideapad L340 17 Inch Touchpad

With the IdeaPad L340 17 Gaming, Lenovo has chosen the ClickPad as a mouse replacement. When in use, it makes a rattling sound due to the loose frame.

Only firm pressure on the bottom corner of the pad causes the mouse button to react. In addition, the surface provides considerable resistance to the mouse pointer, making operation with the mouse pointer difficult.

Ellen drivers are used instead of Windows precision on the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 17-inch touchpad, which is 4.1 inches wide. It’s smooth, fast, and precise.

When you press the button, it will also make a clear, albeit somewhat audible, sound. I believe it was a bit off overall.

In addition, according to the gaming experience, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 17-inch touchpad does not help to avoid opponents. I recommend buying an external gaming mouse that’s adapted for it.

Touch fingerprints are easily attracted to the smooth matte black plastic surface. However, with a microfiber cloth, cleaning is very simple. Apart from that, I didn’t notice any smudges while using it due to its black color.

If you’re looking for a powerful and slim laptop that’s perfect for the frequent traveler, the Lenovo Ideapad L340 is a great choice.

It has great connectivity, including an HD webcam, a built-in microphone, and three USB ports. Apart from that, it has impressive battery life.

Overall, this is an excellent choice for anyone who needs a powerful and portable laptop!

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming has a Gigabit Ethernet port and a Wi-Fi module that supports 802.11 a, b, g, n, and ac standards.

However, due to the lack of 2×2 MIMO antenna technology, transfer speeds are not as high as on devices like the HP Omen 15.

Apart from the antenna technology already mentioned, the L340’s transfer speed is still only moderate at 290 Mb/s for receiving data and 309 Mb/s for sending data.

Most of the ports are placed on the left side. Ethernet RJ-45, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-A), USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C), headphone/microphone combo, and power LED indicator are all connected to the power input. Meanwhile, on the right side, there is only one USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-A) port.
