HP ENVY m7 Notebook Specs

HP Envy M7 notebook17.3-inch is a large, desktop-like laptop with powerful performance. This laptop is very convenient to place anywhere when you are working. After we tested the HP Envy m7 notebook, the results we got were very satisfying.

Hp Envy M7 notebook is most suitable for those of you who want to do content creation, graphic design, and play games. You get great benefit from this laptop unit. The Envy m7 won’t let you down.

The first thing that catches the attention of the HP Envy m7 notebook is the 17.3-inch Full HD IPS LED touch screen. Having a Full HD screen is not enough, the HP company has even improved its features so that it designs touch screen hardware with a size of 17.3 inches. A touch screen of that size may rarely be found in other laptops on the market.

The metal surface gives a different design and looks elegant from other potential product competitors. As for the keyboard, besides being very comfortable to press, it is also equipped with backlit keys that make you comfortable when using the hp envy m7 notebook at night which can provide the features we need when we want to type in bed.

The weight of the HP Envy m7 notebook is 6.97 lb, this is quite heavy for the size of the HP ENVY TS m7 Notebook PC, this is one of the drawbacks. Because considering the weight of 6.97 lb this laptop is a bit difficult to carry when traveling.

The HP Envy m7-n011dx has a 6th generation Intel® Core™ i7-6500U (2.5GHz with turbo boost up to 3.1GHz, 4MB L3 Cache) Dual Core that delivers outstanding performance. This CPU boasts two cores that run at a phenomenal 2.5 GHz and go up to 3.1 GHz when the task is too heavy. In addition, it has 4 MB cache.

As for RAM, the HP Envy m7 still uses DDR3 with a size of 16GB DDR3L SDRAM (2 DIMM), this is one of the drawbacks. Because the current laptop output on average already uses DDR4. Although still using DDR3, with a capacity of 16GB is more than enough for the multitasking needs that we need.

Although the HP Envy m7 notebook is not really a gaming laptop, the graphics card in the HP Envy m7 is certainly not a joke. NVIDIA GeForce 940M Graphics.

This graphics card is Designed for high-end laptops that delivers up to 4X faster graphics performance for gaming and can accelerate graphic and video design applications. Not only that, the performance of the GeForce® 940M graphics card can save you long battery life when you don’t need it.

In our experience Games like FIFA and World of Warships will perform very well at medium to high frame rate settings.

Talking about the HP Envy 17 touch screen battery, the battery life on the Envy 17.3 laptop is almost 7 hours. hp envy 17 battery life may not be the same as most hp evny 13 inches, because of the power and strong performance it requires the use of a lot of battery power.

The 17.3 touch screen laptop storage still uses a 1 TB hard drive running at a typical 5400 rpm, the capacity allows the 17.3 hp notebook to install unlimited software.

It’s worth pointing out that storage can be increased through the back-end method of placing an SSD, something we highly recommend on the 17.3-inch HP Envy laptop as a full blown. Especially when they want to add storage in the form of SSD.

Finally, as we approach the finish line on the HP Envy m7-n011dx review it’s time to take a quick look at some of the additions. In particular we really like the quality webcam which allows Full HD video through an optical structure that uses 4 lenses. This goes above and beyond your standard webcam and is certainly a plus for anyone who spends a fair amount of time skyping. Also of note are the Bang & Olufsen speakers which make perfect highs pitches and very low lows.

In terms of connectivity, a high-end laptop like this should not miss placing a dual band AC WiFi antenna or Bluetooth 4.0 support. It also looks at 4 USB 3.0 ports which offer fast data speeds as well as ethernet and HDMI ports.

As for the OS, it is worth mentioning that this laptop actually comes with Windows 8.1. However, once it is first set up you will be advised to do a free upgrade to Windows 10 and we encourage that too.

With nothing more left to say in our review of the HP Envy m7-n011dx, we just have to say that we absolutely love this laptop. The only feature we’d improve off the bat is storage to an SSD unit because that’s better. That said, everything else on this laptop is dream worthy.

It’s not a gaming laptop but it delivers for the less demanding players out there. Also the 16GB RAM offers more than enough for our multitasking needs and the processor delivers performance that is on another scale overall if you are coming from a Core i5 processor or less.

Overall, this is one of the best choices you can make in today’s laptop landscape.

Get ready to play games

While this isn’t strictly a gaming laptop, the graphics card in the HP Envy m7-n011dx is certainly not kidding around. Specifically, we’re looking at an Nvidia GeForce 940M with 4 GB of dedicated vRAM. If you’re a fan of benchmarks, this GPU is just below the latest GTX 950M but still pretty good for titles of the 2014-2015 circuit.

Games like Fifa 16 and World of Warships will perform very well on medium to high settings. However, higher end titles such as The Witcher 3 and Evolve will struggle a bit more to reach a decent frame rate when played on high settings to exploit the Full HD display.

A solid battery life but a standard storage

When it comes down to battery life on 17 inch laptops we’re not that picky. Honestly, chances are we’re not gonna move that laptop quite as much as we would with a 13 inch model.

That said, it’s always wise to have your bases covered and that’s exactly what HP’s done by endowing this particular laptop with a battery life that can almost achieve the 7 hour mark.

To this point, while battery life might be above average, storage is more on the “standard” side of things with a 1 TB hard drive working at your typical 5400 rpm.

It should be noted however that storage may be upgraded through some back-end work to place an SSD, something we highly recommend on a laptop as full blown such as this one. Particularly when they’ve become so much cheaper as of late to the point where you can purchase a 250 GB SSD for less than $100.

A good webcam and more stuff to consider

Finally, as we approach the finishing line on this HP Envy m7-n011dx review it’s time to take a quick look at some of the extras. Specifically we really like the quality webcam which allows for Full HD video over an optical structure that uses 4 lenses. This goes above and beyond your standard webcam and it’s certainly a plus for all those who spend a fair amount of time skyping. Also worth noting are the Bang & Olufsen speakers which make the highs pitch perfect and the lows very low.

In terms of connectivity, a high end laptop like this one couldn’t miss out on placing a dual band WiFi ac antenna or Bluetooth 4.0 support. It’s also noticeable the 4 USB 3.0 ports which offer quick speed data as well as the ethernet and HDMI ports.

As for the OS, it’s worth mentioning that this laptop does in fact comes with Windows 8.1. However, upon first set up you’ll be advised to do the free upgrade to Windows 10 and we also encourage that.

Wrapping things up: Is it worth my money?

With nothing more left to say on our review of the HP Envy m7-n011dx we only have to say that we truly love this laptop. The only feature we would upgrade off the bat is the storage to an SSD unit because it’s simply better. That said, everything else in this laptop is dream worthy.

It’s not precisely a gaming laptop but it does deliver for the not exceedingly demanding gamers out there. Also its 16 GB of RAM offer more than enough for our multitasking needs and the processor delivers performance that’s on a whole other scale if you come from a Core i5 processor or less.
